I bought the 28' fiberglass pole with amateur radio in mind. I operate in the mountains of Nevada from time to time, and thought that this would make a dandy portable wire antenna mast. Another use was to carry it with me in my truck for possible emergencies as well. I am very impressed with the quality - I have used telescoping mast before and this one is the best so far. I will definitely be telling amateur radio operators that are interested in portable, or emergency communications about these poles.
